Once again, we have internet in our house. Two years ago when my laptop died randomly, we decided to do without internet also. The coverage here isn't very good and our phones do better on their own internet instead of wifi. I recently got a new computer (desktop this time) and Joseph was ready to reinstate our internet, so here we are! Connected once again. I'll do my best to keep up with this blog this summer. Already things are in full swing and I can't keep my days straight. Today is Friday... but all day yesterday I thought it was a Tuesday!
Last summer we had company at our house for just over 50% of the summer. It was great to have everyone and visit, but coming into this summer we opted to not invite family out until the weather shifts. We will be focusing on our family time as we can see that time is flying by. While we have had some company this summer already and it has been fantastic to visit, the trips have been for short times.
Ted and Elaine came to visit last week. They're finishing up their final round of visits north before making the big final move to Texas! No more of these Bedfords in CA!
This week, Dustin and Dinah stayed by on their trip to North Dakota. The kids had a wild time and enjoyed terrorizing the chickens. They all came bounding into the house together with chickens in everyone's arms!
In June, Blaire finished up her Kinder books and Blake finished 3rd grade. A week after they finished, Blake was able to go to 4 days of 'Day Camp' in McCall. It was like an extended VBS but with many more exciting adventures, such as ziplining, scavenger hunts in the woods, and canoeing. He had a blast meeting new friends and experiencing new things! He was a bit sad on the last day, realizing that the next camp is a year away! I promised that we will have lots of fun things to do this summer and we're just getting started!
We have been spending evenings at the lake. We found a nice beach off the side of the road about a half hour south on West Mountain Road. We head that way with dinner when Joseph gets off work and we stay til the weather cools. Spending days/evenings at the lake is one of our priorities for this summer! We did quite a bit of day trips last summer, but not enough!
Tonight we went to our spot on the lake and had dinner. The lake was breezy and the rough water a deep beautiful blue. The kids swam til they got cold. Mom also came and joined us for a while. It was a cooler evening than the rest of the week. I hear the next week should be fairly blazing and just right for swimming though! I sure hope it is, since we're going to be camping.
