Warm Lake Camping

This weekend we got a late start and left for camping on Saturday morning. A bit of misadventure on the way, we finally got to a good campsite around 3pm.

Blaire accidentally ripped out her loose tooth that morning.
Blake has always had his permanent teeth right there.
This is the first time we've had a toothless child!

Playing Joseph's Michigan Chinese Vietnamese or Thai "13" game!
I had a really good hand!

We had a nice spot on the lake to sit while the kids swam in the "warmish" lake!

We went on an evening walk, requested by Blaire.
Blake put on his uniform... can you find him in the trees?!

We brought the choke collar for Fannie on this trip.
Blaire was able to hold the leash and not be dragged while we walked!

S'more time at 9!

We forgot our smore sticks so Joseph cut some down to points for us.

Then he roasted me a perfectly golden brown mellow!

Blake likes his mellows to be fully on fire!

"Mom, Fannie looked cold so I covered her with my baby blankets."-Blake
Blaire was long asleep. She went to bed willingly while we were having fun with s'mores and cards.
Then Daddy called her out of the tent to cuddle until she fell asleep. The rest of us went to bed at 10:30. Fannie was cold apparently so when the kids got an extra cover, so did she.

Morning views-
During the late evening, we had zipper troubles (last trip too) and ended up using 10 safety pins to keep the door shut. At bedtime needing to go out again when we were all pinned inside, we realized we needed an easier exit for mid-night bathroom trips. So we cut the screen from one of the windows to use as a door. Eventually we will need to buy a new tent... but we have one more window to use as a door first before we can justify that kind of purchase!!

Blake was on the early morning hunt for..... his sister.

"Oh Mom. It's so hot. I'll stay cool by sitting in this bucket of cold water!"
'Blaire isn't that the dog's water bucket?'
"Ummm Yes. But I'm so hot!"

More cards before camp needed to be picked up.
We solidly cleaned camp in 30 minutes this time!

More adventuring east of Warm Lake.
Our truck wanted to overheat before we reached the summit.
I hate having engine issues. I never know what they are, why we have them, or if they'll continue!

That's Warm Lake where we camped.

Done with adventuring.
The creek spot we had looked for was infested with annoying bugs and biting flies.
We stayed all of 20 minutes before turning back.

Pointing out a good lookin' beach across the way.

Maybe we will camp here next month!

Being in bear country, Blaire had lots of bear related questions.
At one of the little stops, the concrete out front had some
bear prints she was excited to compare her feet to.

Joseph spotted a snake in the water and chased it down!
She'd touch it, but not hold it.

She smiled for the camera then made that "Ruth Look" when
the snake turned toward her outstretched hand!
