We went adventuring on this cold evening. We parked off WMtnRd and walked over the fence into the Amanita campgound. The water is down in preparation for winter. Seeing these giant logs, how dangerous is it to dive, boat, or swim in this lake?! Of these four logs preparing to impale a boater, they were just inches below the surface of the water while we kayaked this summer. Similar logs and huge stumps litter the whole shoreline of the northwest Cascade Lake. Pretty creepy if you ask me!
While we camped, Blaire lost her "Lucky" playmobile girl. This was our last attempt to search for her in the sand below summer water level. It was quite cool but a perfect evening to explore the lake at the campground and then further north off Crane Shores where there is an inlet. Some places were muddy but well walkable. The northern side where we walked is where Cranes and Geese live. The north side is a bird habitat/ off limits area for boaters. The kids were excited to find feathers as we explored.
