Icy Days Out!

The beginning of December we finally got some snow! As you can see from the first photo, in just a couple days we went from grass and a very light snow cover to all but two barbed wires on the fence! It was pure coincidence that I took a picture perfectly side by side so when I lined them up they were the same!

The kids were loving the fresh snow!

What do you do on Saturday afternoons? Watch people out the kitchen window and go to help them when they get stuck in the drifts. This time, it wasn't so much the drifts as it was the ice rink slick roads!! Before getting the first fella outta the ditch, two more vehicles got stuck and a tractor came to the rescue! It was all great fun. We were thankful it was still daylight and not night. Later on another guy with a horse trailer got stuck further down the road. It took him an hour to get out with a few vehicles out helping. We watched through the window as it was midnight and he already had help.

9am morning and negative 20!

The snow that had fallen was fluffy like cattail fluff! It was so neat to see the individual flakes since the temp was so low!

Flakes on the truck windows.

Here is a pile of flakes that were growing off our roof!
