We didn't take a Christmas school break. We took most of October and November off instead. The last week of December Blaire finished 1st grade and moved on to 2nd! Since it's all review work, she was able to complete one month of school work in the last week of Dec! As long as it's easy, no reason to not continue working!
Blaire addressed a few of her own Christmas cards this year. She is turning out to be a thoughtful girl, including those she loves in the moments of her days.
Blake left BOTH his snow jackets at church this week. For Awana's he had to borrow Mom's jacket. He has his medic bag full of comic books, Bible, and notebook! At church he picked up his jackets.... then the next day left both pairs of snow gloves at Grama's house!
Joseph and his BRRRRT CORP merch!
On his birthday he got to lead worship for the first time at church!
How Blake feels about school!
Blaire is a diligent little worker. I love that she can read so well now. She is able to start school on her own most days and work quite independently!
"Mom, how big are my teeth?"
We haven't been consistent with piano this month, but Blaire still goes to practice her work. She is a little pro at CMajor and Aminor scales- complete with curved fingers and seamless crossings!
For the last day of Awana's Blaire wanted festive hair.
So I gave her braids and a bit of Christmas tree!
Up to Christmas, we had degrees as cold as -26 at noon!
The kids needed to bundle well to do their morning chicken check!
Blaire has been in speech therapy again since August. Both in therapy and in school she is working on the 'er', 'ir', 'ur', and 3 'ear' sounds. She decided to make a chart so she could teach her animals. Animals being either the cat on the couch, or the pile of stuffed animals she set up in the living room.
A wonderful gem I discovered during a mornin's reading!
The people rejoiced when Jesus said he came to set free and proclaim the people. But they got angry when He made the point that He came for those whom the Father had given Him. This is an argument for Jesus being sent for a limited people! Do we know who the elect are? Nope! Go spread the good news that Christ died to cover the sin of those He came to save! Repent and Believe! "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" We don't know who is saved in the eyes of God, but He does and we are called to share the gospel message and through that message, God will save His own!
I’m reading through as fast as you’re writing! It’s like a good bag of chips. Hard to stop!! Reading your blog is a nice change from the short snippets on all the other medias.
